The morning sun just seemed to kiss past the blinds while a young lion slept peaceful on his bed. Stirring very lightly once the sun’s rays had reached the closed eyelids of the sleeping lion, the teenage male moved slightly. Burying his head deeper into the pillow while he groaned; James couldn’t believe that morning had already made its appearance. The groggy male could barely make an effort to move his tired body while he just wanted to sleep the day away. The only hitch to the plan was that he didn’t really want to be that lazy during the first week back to the school. Pushing one eye open, he couldn’t remember exactly what day was it, which only made him wonder if it was Saturday like he hoped, but alas he knew it couldn’t have been. Looking around with his one open eye, James looked to see if the other boys were in their beds as well. He saw that every other male was still asleep so he quickly dozed back to sleep. ‘No one better wake me up for atleast twenty minutes or someone’s getting smacked across the head.’ James thought while his brain slowly shifted back to sleep mode.
By time the tired boy awoke again, it was close to twelve and he realized just how stupid it was for him to miss the entire morning of classes he was supposed to attend. Knowing it would look terrible to show up for classes now, he just chose to call it a sick day since he was much too exhausted from his late night to bother to deal with annoying professor’s now. Slowly he got out of bed and took off to get showered up and cleaned. Knowing he’d have to find a classmate to let him know what he missed the first classes of the day, James took his sweet time getting ready for the day since there wasn’t much he could do now. He slept in and now just chose to take a free day for once. ’what’s the worst that’s going to happen? I get a detention or two for missing the first day.’ James thought while he finished up cleaning and showering up. After feeling more refresh and alive, he decided that he had to do something so he made his way to the common room and just sat there. Reading for a few hours was the only activity he thought he could do until classes were over.
A while after reading and knowing that classes would be over soon, James placed his book down and walked out of the common room. The old portrait to the common room could be heard grunting behind his back, but he chose to ignore the nagging session. James’ appearance was simple with his white sleeved buttoned shirt, Gryffindor tie and jeans on. The sleeves were rolled up while the tie hung loose around his neck. Sliding a pair of aviator sunglasses over his face since he knew the sun seemed killer today; James walked down the many stairs of the castle and just seemed to blend in with the crowd. Lucky enough, no one seemed to notice that he wasn’t coming from any of the nearby classes which meant he was able to get out to the grounds with ease. Staring out to the wide surroundings before him, James could only smile to himself. Taking a few steps out to the grounds, he really didn’t know where he was going, but he knew he was going to enjoy every last bit of it while he could. Passing a small group of friends he knew, he waved to them, but continued on his adventure around the school grounds.
The pitch looked like a place he could go, but he thought he could maybe go later on. The forest like every year before this year was forbidden; though he knew that it wasn’t fun unless it was nightfall. The only place left that seemed to appeal to the young male was the lake. The water looked from a great distance like a great place to swim today, but he couldn’t really believe at the moment that he was in a swimming mood. The best reason he knew for scoping out the lake at this time of day was to see if any of the female student body was swimming. James after all was just a normal guy after all and what guy wouldn’t care to watch a few females swimming on a sunny day like today. Running his hands through his hair, he continued to walk along the lakes edge while curious to see if anything exciting would happen today. Stopping briefly to skip a few rocks along the lake’s surface, James could only smile while he looked around. Without anyone of interest in sight just yet, he decided to continue to roam the lake in hopes of finding something fun to do. He knew it would be a shame to waste such a beautiful day like today by just roaming alone by his lonesome.
