It would be hard to explain how Riley got into this situation. If somebody would come down the corridor right now they would probably die of laughter, well at least Riley was for the first hour. However after the hour passed Riley realized that maybe this whole predicament wasn’t all too funny, actually it was problematic. Riley didn’t know how he was going to undo what he had done. At the time it was pretty fun, but now when everything went awry it turned out that maybe Riley’s brilliant idea wasn’t so brilliant after all.
See Riley had an idea, it was one of those ideas that he thought of in class when he was stuck sitting still for a long time. Riley sitting still was never a good combination because it usually resulted in some very extravagant thinking to distract himself from the fact that almost every single one of his teachers has restricted the amount of times he was allowed to leave his chair for some random excuse that Riley would make up. It was one of those ideas that got Riley stuck in the predicament he was in right now. Seriously someone should start discouraging these insane ideas instead of just letting him go along with it, but that was something about Riley no matter how ridiculous something is he could find the right wording to make people think that what should be considered insane was actually pretty rational.
The thought that Riley had was that it would be amazingly fun was to hex his feet or shoes to walk on the walls and ceiling. That brilliant idea would be the whole reason that Riley was stuck on the ceiling right now, hanging upside down. At first Riley had figured out a way to hex his shoes/feet to be able to walk on walls, it was working great for the first hour, but now it wasn’t. For the past 10 minutes Riley has been stuck hanging upside down on the ceiling of the second floor. This wouldn’t have been such a bad idea if some people were still around watching his amazing idea, but nobody was around because it was dinner time and they were all gone eating.
So there Riley was hanging upside down on the ceiling, maybe he would’ve been able to fix this if his wand hadn’t fallen out of his pocket. Honestly Riley didn’t know what went wrong, maybe the spell was starting to wear off and was going funky or maybe it was just a defective spell. Either way Riley was stuck hanging upside down his black hair hanging out of his two different shade of blue eyes. Riley was probably a sight to be seen with his mismatched looking clothes; a Gryffindor tie holding up his pants and his own Hufflepuff tie hanging loosely by his ear. Luckily his shirt was tucked in for once so his bare stomach wouldn’t be showing. Now, looking around with his good dark blue eye, Riley was trying to find somebody to help him get out of this situation, but he had no luck.
After another ten minutes of just hanging there Riley was getting really jittery and bored so he started singing the school song, yeah Riley resorted to some random things when he got bored. Maybe someone would hear him and try and rescue him, but Riley was starting to think that he was going to have to wait until dinner was over until he had any hope of getting down from the ceiling. Then out of the corner of his good eye Riley saw something moving. Hoping that it wasn’t just a ghost or a cat Riley shouted, ”AYE!! HELP!!”

He had had his fill and was now ready to get back to the troll of an essay he had to write about the Goblin Wars. He was not too trilled with what he had so far. The essay was supposed to be a minimum of eighteen inches and Brenan only had 9 inches at the moment. Nine inches of utter rubbish in his mind. Grimacing at the thought of going back to the essay, Brenan decided to take the long way to the Ravenclaw common room. Marveling once again at how large the castle was Brenan let his feet guide him through the second floor.
His attention was suddenly drawn to a hallway when he heard a plea for help. His curiosity took over and he approached the source of the sound. As he approached he squinted his eyes. He couldn’t be seeing this correctly could he? Dear Merlin, I knew I should have brought my specs along with me he thought to himself as he took in the sigh. There was a boy suspended from the ceiling. He had two ties, one was that of a Gryffindor and the other of a Hufflepuff. Brenan wondered for a moment if this was the work of a Slytherin, but decided against it, for the boys wand, or what he assumed to be the boys wand lay on the ground under the boy. Suddenly a smirk appeared on his lips.
Brenan looked at him for a moment, the smirk still on his lips. He then spoke “I’m assuming you’d like me to get you down?” he asked sarcasm lacing his voice. He couldn’t help himself. He had a low tolerance for stupidity, and well, getting yourself stuck on a ceiling was a pretty darn stupid thing to do. Without waiting too long for his reply, Brenan stuck his hand in his pocket and began to rummage around for his wand. He wondered for a brief moment if he had forgotten it in the common room. Moments after he started looking his fingers made contact with the smooth wood of his wand. Wrapping his fingers around the wand he pulled it out. “Hold still now” he warned as he flicked his wand and muttered a spell. Brenan expected the other boy to fall off the ceiling; it was the way it worked. However, if the boy had some coordination he would be able to land gracefully on the ground, if not well he would land as a heap on the floor. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - LITTLE DARLING, I FEEL THAT ICE IS SLOWLY MELTING little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - tagged; name of character the thread is for lyrics; here comes the sun by the beatles listening to;Un-thinkable by Alicia Keys word count; Gahh shortness sorry. outfit; link for outfit here credit; to brooke from caution

Honestly Riley was starting to find this kind of amusing, being stuck on the ceiling that is. Of course this wasn’t what most people would find amusing, actually most people would consider this pretty stupid. Riley did have to admit that this was pretty stupid of him to get stuck up on the ceiling, but it was fun at the time and that justified everything in Riley’s opinion. No matter the consequences if something was fun or amusing Riley thought it was worth it. Not that Riley thought that the end justified the means for bad things, he only thought so for fun things, however that was a hard line to walk.
Though Riley was still finding this to be funny he was quite relieved when he saw that person at the end of the corridor. No mater how fun this whole thing was, Riley was starting to get a head rush from hanging upside down for so long. So he was starting to feel that it was necessary to be let down from the ceiling right now. The only thing that could be bad about spotting someone was if they were either a teacher or someone totally unwilling to help. Riley seriously hoped that they weren’t either and that this person would be more helpful.
As the person got closer Riley could make out that it was a guy and a Ravenclaw. Though Riley wasn’t quite sure if he knew the guy he was glad that he was a Ravenclaw because Riley wasn’t too sure if anybody else would be able to get him down. Cocking his head to the side so he could see better with his good eye Riley noticed that he was probably an older student , meaning he was probably knew more spells than one of the younger students.
When the guy was standing near him Riley let out a sigh of relief and nodded his head furiously when he asked if he needed help down. The furious nodding caused his massive amounts of shaggy black hair to whip into his eyes, giving his head a twitch to the side the hair fell back out of his one light blue and the other dark blue eye. Now able to see a bit better Riley saw the guy pull out his wand and he tried to hold as still as possible while he flicked his wand and muttered a spell. Then before Riley knew it he was falling.
”Bloody hell!” Riley muttered was he laid sprawled out on his back in the middle of the corridor. Though Riley landed flat on his back it didn’t hurt all too much, though he was pretty sure he’d have a wicked bruise on his back by the time he went to bed. Puffing out a deep breath Riley blew the hair out of his eyes and slowly stood up while brushing off his rumpled, mismatched robes. ”Thanks!” Riley said with a goofy grin plastered on his face, clearly feeling a rush from the fall. ”I would’ve probably been stuck up there for another hour if you hadn’t come. I don’t know what went wrong to be honest. You see I was walking on the walls and what not for at least an hour and then BAM I get stuck on the ceiling! Do you know why that happened because I don’t. Oh I’m Riley by the way! Who are you?” You see Riley tended to talk a lot and while he talked he tended to use wild hand motions and put emphasis on a lot of words as if he was telling an exciting story. Most people found him pretty amusing but others annoying, but Riley didn’t care he was a big goofball and he embraced it.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -LITTLE DARLING, THE SMILES RETURNING TO THE FACESlittle darling, it seems like years since it's been here- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Apparently grace wasn’t the boy’s strong point. Brenan watched slightly with a slightly amused look as the other boy landed in a heap on the floor. He had a nagging feeling that the clumsy boy was in his year, yet he just couldn’t seem to place a name to his face. Brenan racked his brain searching for the answer to the question that was consuming his brain. He needed to know. It would drive him insane. Brenan scratched the back of his neck absentmindedly as the boy rambled on. It seemed to be a habit of his. He just didn’t seem to stop talking. He went on about how he didn’t know how he managed to get stuck on the ceiling. Brenan had a pretty good theory, but decided it was best to keep his mouth shut.
In reality the situation could be avoided by ensuring that your wand was always in your hand. Simple solution, common sense really, yet it seemed to be that most people in Hogwarts did not process an ounce of common sense. This boy seemed to be one of the crowd. That didn’t mean he was a bad boy, it simply meant that he wasn’t the strongest spell in the book. Brenan didn’t voice his thoughts, however. He simply nodded when the boy introduced himself as Riley and answered his second question with an introduction “Brenan Wood” he told Riley confidently. He held his hand out to shake the new boy’s hand.
It may have been too polite, but it was simply the way he was. Prim and proper, somewhat old fashion to a tee almost. “Just wondering, but what po- what gave you the idea to stick yourself upside down to the ceiling?” Brenan couldn’t help but ask. He wanted to know where this idiotic idea came from and who gave it to the obviously gullible boy. It would be almost cruel beyond belief to give this boy sarcasm, for Brenan had a sense that anything said in front of this boy would be taken seriously.
less the poor boy’s parents. They probably worried themselves silly about him and the trouble he got into at Hogwarts. Brenan didn’t voice these thoughts either. He seemed to be holding back a lot of thoughts from this kid. It may be odd that Brenan kept referring to Riley as kid when they were the same age, he just couldn’t help himself. He felt ages older then Riley, maybe it was because he knew at a young age that suspending yourself upside down from the ceiling was a terrible idea. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - LITTLE DARLING, I FEEL THAT ICE IS SLOWLY MELTING little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - tagged; name of character the thread is for lyrics; here comes the sun by the beatles listening to; Ross’s voice from Friends (the show) word count; 432 w/out code (sorry for shortness, I promise to improve : ( outfit; too lazy at the moment credit; to brooke from caution
