Standing at about five feet ten inches tall, Damien is no small fry and towers above most students in his house, the majority of the first years being no exception. For the most part one might describe him to be a bit overly tall, but for someone who plays muggle basketball, height is of no consequence. Damien does not see his height as a disadvantage, though it does make for some hard romance moments seeing as how he towers over most of the girls in his year or just below him. Most say that his height makes him more attractive, but others say it is just annoying having a sixth year tower above them when they are in seventh year. Some people also think that his being so tall would impair his ability to even be on the quid-ditch team, but that is not the case as he is quite the adept player, having played on it as a beater since he was in his second year. He wasn’t chosen because of his height either. He was chosen because he was of a heavier, more muscular build than any other second year player trying out. His muscular build is also quite impressive for someone his age, though he doesn’t flaunt it. Beyond his height, Damien has an impressive array of other astounding features that define the Ravenclaw for someone that is the standard for the ideal weight for someone his age.
Damien has an attractive face, his features are stern, yet kind. Most would describe him as someone who looks as though he could pack a punch, but that is not the case. True he will do what he can when in a fight, but he prefers to refrain from violence, finding the best ways to sort out a problem by means of logical thinking instead of punching someone’s lights out. Damien has a head of thick brown hair that must be gelled and combed properly because if not, it sticks out every which way and is quite annoying when it gets in his face. It’s kept short and trim, but still it can be unruly. Damien’s eyes are a bright blue that bring out every hidden emotion within him. They can also hide his emotions just as easily. As far as clothing is concerned, Damien takes it as he can get it, never being too particular about any one item as long as it fits his body as well as somewhat to his taste. Being raised with an older sibling meant that he got hand-me-downs instead of his parents buying the first thing that caught his eye, and his mother did a lot of the knitting, even if it had been done by magic and not by hand. His attire ranges from a pair of ordinary, every day jeans to a vast array of shirts and over shirt, a piece of clothing one rarely sees him without. It’s not below him to wear something as simple as a pair of tennis shoes, or a more expensive pair of black leather shoes. When in doubt, however, he’s hardly seen without his pair of hiking boots that look as though they have seen more years than the person wearing them.
For the more luxurious occasions, a Harding always portrays himself properly, wearing a suit or some glamorous dress robes that look as though they cost his family galleons. But for everyday, simplicity is often the best policy, never overdoing any occasion that might call for something to wear. Summer and winter months vary, but it is common to find him in the most comfortable thing he can find.

A little more than sixteen years ago a young woman was working a muggle coffee shop when a young man wandered into the shop, looking as though he had been through a twister as his clothing was ripped and torn, a sign that he must be one of the misfortunate. He passed by most of the people who were working on their laptops or chatting away on their cell phones, passing them and making his way to the counter where stood the young woman who was making coffee and serving customers to their every desire. For the most part people were happy, just speaking under their breath, their muffled voices being drowned by a large fan that spun in the corner. Many of the cups that were being emptied were soon refilled as the girl made her way from customer to customer, stopping at the young man who looked as though he could use some food. So without hesitation, the young girl poured him a hot cup of coffee and handed him a sandwich with a smile on her face saying that this one was on her. After he had finished his meal the two of them met outside, and after awhile talking the both of them were soon exchanging adresses. Simple meetings ensued over the next few weeks until the two of them were in a deep embrace, kissing one another so affectionately. It didn't take long for her to explain that she was not normal. The telling of her abilities stirred him somewhat, but after awhile he accepted the fact that she was different, taking one day to propose to her. By this time he had received a position in the coffee shop, and the both of them had saved a alittle money together to have a small ceremony. The ceremony took place with just a few family members and friends, the beginning of a lasting relationship that began with a sandwich and a cup of coffee. Of course they had consecrated their marriage on the honeymoon night, a night that would later bring about the birth of their first child.
Nine months later a small bay boy was born into the world, the first of three children and the eldest. They named him Damien Alexander, after his mother's father. The young boy proved to be a handful, and just short of a year later the woman would give birth to another child, this time a girl. But before that would happen the young couple moved into a flat outside London with their new bundle of joy safely in the arms of his mother. It was a picturesque scene: a two story house on top of a hill with a large barn in the backdrop. This would be Damien's home for the next seventeen years, as it was customary to live with one's family until they turned seventeen in the Ross household, Ross being his mother ofcourse. The next few years went on without incident, until the morning of his first magical experience. Damien had been five at the time, and had been playing on the back porch over looking the horse yards and stable when his father noticed a shoe hovering in between the glass as though it had no substance to it. The shoe was moving back and forth as the young boy was laughing below, his face smiling at the scene. Needless to say his father was flustered, scooping his son up just as the shoe froze in place, remaining stuck in the glass for most of his childhood as a momento of his first magical experience.
By the time Damien was eleven, he received his letter of acceptance to Hogwarts. His parents were both excited for their boy, even though the father was not of magical inclination and had never been to the school. The closest he had ever gotten to another magical being was his wife, and even then it was hard to count that as being near a magical person. When he reached Hogwarts and was sorted into a house, he was sorted into Ravenclaw. The hat had said he was of good intellect and was good enough to be called a raven. So it was here in this house where he would make his friends, and even get romantically involved with his first year crush. She was a muggle who believed muggles and purebloods should be treated as equals. The fact that he was half didn't deter her in the least, and the two of them began dating his fourth year. It wasn't until his summer before he was in sixth year that she sent him a letter at his house that she was breaking it off. He would later find out the reason for her breaking up with him was because she had thought she had become pregnant. Turns out she hadn't, but she had been cheating on him with someone from Hufflepuff secretly over the time that they had begun dating. He had tried getting back with her at the end of his summer, but she told him that she was going to be moving to America and that a long distance relationship would not work. Plus her parents didn't like the fact of her dating a half blood. So he begins his sixth year loveless, but with the knowledge that people can be just as cruel as they say.
