Running a hand through her hair, Roxanne let out a frustrated sigh. She was biting her bottom lip and her gaze was fixed on the roll of parchment rolled out on the table. She crossed out the last sentence she had wrote and glanced up. The table she was sitting at was littered with crumpled up pieces of parchment. “Fuck!” she muttered under her breath. She dropped her quill onto the table and read the half a foot she had written. Grimacing slightly as she read it she swore once more under her breath. When she reached the end she realized one thing. She hated it! She hated the essay she had written, and there was no way in Merlin’s Pants she was going to hand it in. Repeating her previous actions Roxanne crumpled up her parchment and threw it aside. She pulled out a fresh sheet of parchment and rolled it out. She wrote the date neatly in the upper right hand corner and in the left hand corner she wrote her name. She then went down a line and wrote her title in the center. She underlined it carefully, and then starred at the parchment. Pondering slightly, Roxanne pulled towards her an old piece of parchment and made a list of possible thesis and arguments. Under each argument she made a list a possible support. Not fully satisfied she let out another sigh then dropped her quill again.
Roxanne stood up and made her way to the shelves. Walking through the shelves, Roxanne would stop occasionally to read a title or to flip through the pages of the book. There were times where she found what she was looking for and times where there was nothing. It took her a few minutes, but eventually Roxanne returned to her table with books in her arms. She opened the first book and flipped through the pages until she found what she was looking for, she put a smaller marker in the place and then closed the book and pulled open the next one. She repeated this process with all her books.
Adding the new found information on the scrap paper she had, Roxanne tried once more to write her essay. She took her time forming each letter and word. She wasn’t sure what time it was or how long she had been writing, but shortly after she finished writing her introduction (a hefty half a foot long) her mind began to wander. She couldn’t help herself; it had been a crazy few last weeks. There had been what had happened at the dance, and the virus. She wasn’t too concerned with the virus for the moment. Maybe it was because she was selfish, but none of her family or friends were affected by it. A miracle really when one considered the size of the Weasley clan. It was the event of the dance that were really bugging her.
How could she have been so stupid? She wasn’t confusing her feelings for Osiris, of that she was sure. But still their actions had been irresponsible, even for her. She now hadn’t talked to him or Ezekiel in weeks and was beginning to feel quite miserable about it. She tried not to let it show, she knew she wasn’t doing a good job, however, there was a change in her. One that only her closest friends had noticed. She was trying not to let it show. She still smiled a ton and laughed constantly. She didn’t like the idea of the world knowing something was wrong. It wasn’t any of their business what was wrong with her. She had messed up now she was going to have to deal with it. Oh the mess she had gotten herself into. tag: word count: outfit: CLICKY notes: lyrics: lady gaga- dance in the dark credit: MISS.C <3 @ caution 2.0

AS SHE CARRIES ON WITHOUT A DOUBT i wonder if she'll figure out that I ' M C R A Z Y F O R T H I S G I R L - - - *
It had indeed been a long time since they had set eyes on each other. That dance had been a strange night for the whole lot of students what with the strange fever that had over-taken the school grounds. Before it had grown too bad there had been rumors flying around about that night, the standard kind that every school had because everyone was interested in living vicariously through the gossip they consumed. Some of said gossip had indeed reached Ezekiel's ears and he had seen parts of it--Roxanne and Osiris at the Ball. His foolish jealousy crawling up his throat like bile as he retreated into the darkness with Jersey to get away from it. To forget any of it had ever happened. He had been torturing himself for so long now that he just needed...well, hell I don't know if he actually knew what he needed anymore.
Since the time of that Ball he had been in and out of St. Mungo's with the usual complaint of the seizures. This time he had elected to keep his mother out of it and deal with it himself, the blazing head aches that seemed to clog all reasonable thought and the constant feeling that he was a walking, talking time bomb. Back in school again he was playing catch up on homework and had decided that instead of stealing off into the Forbidden Forest as he was so wont to do nowadays he'd go to the library and make a dent in the schoolwork that he had missed.
The smell of mildew and old scrolls assaulted his nostrils and seemed to placate him almost instantly. A calloused hand brushing a sandy lock of blond hair from his line of vision as he ignored the disapproving look from the librarian. As always his reputation seemed to precede him no matter where he went within the school. Granted he had gotten into a rather loud fistfight back in the stacks once and that was probably the source of the matronly woman's suspicion but he paid her little mind as he wandered away. His rucksack bore the weight of a few hefty textbooks and a few scrolls of his own to write with whatever drivel happened to pop into his head. Ezekiel had a clear set of goals that he needed to accomplish and yet he felt no desire to begin doing them just yet. The procrastinator was rearing its ugly head once again. He'd finish them eventually having always worked rather well under pressure and he would get satisfactory grades on them all; or at least that was what he was expecting.
And then he saw her.
She was sitting off by herself with an array of textbooks and papers piled up around her, a look of concentration worn on her face. Half of him wanted to turn around and walk the other way like a coward but that would have been too easy and he had been retreating much too often. His feet felt like blocks of concrete as he slowly propelled himself towards her, countenance carefully composed.
"Hey Rox, fancy seein' ye here."

Roxanne was chewing on her bottom lip, as she continued to write her essay. The thing was becoming a larger pain in her backside, as she continued to work on it. Stifling a yawn, Roxanne glanced up and looked around her. The library seemed as empty as it had before. A sigh left her lips as she returned to her work. This essay would kill her. A little voice in her head went off at this moment. It’s not the essay that will kill you. It’s you who’s going to kill yourself. You with you drinking and the things you do when you’re drunk. Not to mention your jealousy and party habits. You really are a coward you know? You like a guy, but sleep with another one? That makes a whole lot of sense. What? Are you going to say? That you did it out of jealousy, because he was with Jersey? Not good enough, you should have talked to him. But why would you do something logical, when you can do something absolutely ridiculous and make things much more complicated then they need be? I’ll tell you why, because you are Roxanne Hope Weasley, the cowardly Gryffindor. The voice lectured her for a while. Roxanne put her head down on the table and closed her eyes. The voice was right. She really did create problems.
Roxanne lifted her head and looked around. She heard the door open and looked towards it. She saw Ezekiel walk in. Roxanne felt heat rise up in her face. Roxanne quickly looked away and went back to her essay. She knew the voice would come back and tell her she was being a coward. But she knew that he knew what had happened since Christmas. She knew they both been avoiding each other. There was a sort of elephant in the room with the two of them. And the only way to avoid it was to pretend she didn’t see him. For, if she didn’t see him, maybe, just maybe, he wouldn’t see her. Roxanne threw herself back into her essay. Roxanne’s quill traveled across her parchment as she wrote sentence after sentence. She was going to get it this right this time around. It couldn’t be wrong this time around. She’d refuse to throw another piece or parchment away.
Roxanne heard the footsteps approach her. Apparently he had more Gryffindor in him, than she did. She looked up when she heard his voice. “Hi Zeke, how are you?” she said her voice soft, almost inaudible. “You can sit down if you like” she said pushing the chair across from her, away from the table with the edge of her foot. She was trying hard to make it look casual. She was trying her best to seem normal, to be cheery. She didn’t want him to know something was wrong with her. Yet she couldn’t help but wonder if he would notice the small differences in her. Most people hadn’t but a few of her close friends had. Maybe it was the fact that some of her friends had died in the virus out-break, Maybe it was something else. But changes had happened. She couldn’t help them now. tag: word count: outfit: CLICKY notes: lyrics: lady gaga- dance in the dark credit: MISS.C <3 @ caution 2.0

She looked...or maybe that wasn't the right word. She seemed very much unlike herself and that was enough to give him pause. Why should she be? They had danced around each other for weeks now like dance partners uncertain of their routines. Both of them knew what was wrong but the other could not or would not bring themselves to fix it. Had she sensed his jealousy from the across room at that stupid dance? Did the Slytherins help along the rumors when all that really happened beyond the Great Hall was a nice of drinking, smoking, and maybe a kiss before Ezekiel blacked out and woke up in the Prefect's bath tub the next morning? There were so many questions running races through the Ravenclaw's brain that there was barely enough room for him to think much less string together a sentence. Seeing her made his mouth run dry as a bone in a desert and suddenly he had no idea what to do with his hands so he crammed them into his pockets.
The virus had nearly destroyed the school, massive amounts of clean up had ensued--a school-wide tribute to the fallen students and professors was scheduled to be held. Ezekiel remembered everything that had occurred during those tense days and had heard that Kieron Somhairle's brother had died as the virus had taken its course. It was like a black spot on their school year, a horribly depressing and altogether awful moment in the history of Hogwarts. One that he would rather not see revisited ever again. And perhaps that was one of the factors contributing the 'offness' he was seeing in Roxanne now.
"Good, fine...y'know..." Such a terribly unconvincing liar. Honestly, he would never be a good actor or a politician; the poor lad didn't know how to be anything but himself. And sometimes being himself was a risky, unrewarding endeavor.
He took a seat, sliding his rucksack to the floor at his feet and threads his thumbs through the belt loops of his jeans. Slouching intentionally in the rickety chair he watches her carefully out of the corner of his good eye before a sigh propels itself out of his mouth. Maybe he should be the one to break the spell they both seemed to be under--the dark cloud, the elephant, whatever it was it needed to die.
"Ah'm fuckin' terrible actually. An' y'don't seem t'be feelin' too good yerself. What's wrong?"

Her essay was shot. She knew that the moment he entered the room. It seemed that the faiths were going to force them to come to terms with what had happened and move forward. As it was the twp hardly ever got productive work done when they were together. Sure the time they spent together was quality time and always enjoyable and cherished, but school work always seemed to lay forgotten, an ironic fact in reality, considering the fact the Zeke was a Ravenclaw. But that was the way things were with them two.
Roxanne raised her eyebrow, when he told her that he was good. She knew he was lying. It was obvious. Even if it wasn’t, she would have known. Just as he knew that she wasn’t okay, that she wasn’t fine. It was funny, the very thing she couldn’t stand. The one thing she hated above all was turning into the base of her life. She hated lying and being lied to. Yet these days she had to lie. It was the only way she made it through from day to day. It was her survival mode. She hated herself for it, but at the same time she couldn’t stop herself. Those lies, constantly telling people she was good was holding her together. She felt selfish for even being ready to break at her seems. She knew that many had it worst then her; there were people who had lost their siblings, Tinley Wood for example, or Kieron Somhairle. The thought of Felix formed a lump in her throat. Felix did have a way of aggravating the hell out of her, but she always had a soft spot for him. He had been her first boyfriend and many other firsts as well. Then there was Brenan Wood. They had grown up together, and he was gone now. And then there was Osiris, he had been one of her best friends, and he too was gone now. But she knew in her heart she was blessed that Fred was good and well as were all of her cousins. Roxanne was sure that once she started to break, there would be no way to stop it. The pieces would be tiny and getting it all back together would be impossible or close to. Maybe she was being overdramatic, but she was a teenage girl and being dramatic was what she did best.
Roxanne watched as Zeke took the seat she offered. Their feet touched slightly under the table, but she didn’t comment on it, nor did she move her feet. A new lump formed in her throat when he came clean. She looked at him for a moment then spoke softly “Well, that was blunt, but I’m fine, just stressed with school you know?” she lied through her teeth. She didn’t know why she bothered she was ninety percent sure her would call her out on it. But it was a force of habit now. “What’s wrong with you, talk to me Zeke” she said moments after she had last spoke. She looked at her old friend. He had a haggard look to him. He seemed to have aged a bit as well, it wasn’t anything dramatic, he didn’t look thirty or anything like that, he looked closer to twenty, but he did not look his seventeen years. tag:Ezekiel word count: 500 ish? outfit: CLICKY notes: lyrics: lady gaga- dance in the dark credit: MISS.C <3 @ caution 2.0

AS SHE CARRIES ON WITHOUT A DOUBT i wonder if she'll figure out that I ' M C R A Z Y F O R T H I S G I R L - - - *
Turning his head to look at her with an arched brow she was indeed correct, they could both smell the bullshit from a mile away. Why do people do that? Say that they're fine when they aren't and pretend that everything is completely dandy when really they just want to break something? Maybe it was a coping mechanism but Ezekiel needed an alternative to the ones he had been favoring lately; picking fights and intoxication. The subtle touch made him twitch slightly but this strange battle was probably going to come out as a draw because he allowed the contact to continue as well. As her own explanation for her current mood ran out of her lips his twisted into a slight frown, "Y'know we are th' shittiest liars Ah've ever heard. Out wit' et before Ah resort t'foul play."
He wanted her, and it was not one of those conquests that many a male seemed to feel the need to accomplish. He wanted her because of the sparks that threatened to catch him on fire every time he saw her. She haunted him, and the fact that she was closer--no, closest to him was something that ate at him constantly. Why couldn't he come out and say it? He had a list of excuses a mile long and among his favorites were: We're friends, what happens if it doesn't work out? I can't let her know about the seizures, I'm not weak and I don't want her to think that I am. But sometimes when he felt like pretending the excuses no longer mattered as much and every touch did not feel like treason.
Ezekiel believed that he was supposed to protect her, keep all things ugly and sad away and as unrealistic as those goals might seem it was important to him and he had failed. He had not been there with her during the worst of the virus as he had wanted to, instead he was elsewhere and then after it had been sorted he had been shipped off to Mungo's. She had lost friends and perhaps even a lover if the rumors were true but he did not care about most of it--he was supposed to be a good friend and had somehow become a shitty one in the process.
That's what you get when you have a coward's heart.
"Ah dunno what's happened wit' us but Ah hate it. Ah wasn't there fer ye when ye needed me because...well, forget it. Ah need t'fix this 'coz Ah don't want ter ignore it anymore." I need to fix this because I need you. His voice is quiet, blue eyes watching her carefully, mouth suddenly dry.
"Ah missed ye, Roxanne. All this shit is jus' worse t'deal wit' without ye."

Roxanne placed her quill down. The final sign of defeat. The two would talk now. She could feel it, things were about to change. The change had begun in the forest that night in November and now it was in its final phases it seemed. Change could only happen for so long, one either accepted it and took the change in grace or one rejected it and forced it away. It seemed that the two of them had accepted it. They’d come to terms with their feelings, yet saying them out loud, just couldn’t be done. However, if for one moment the one knew that the other one felt the same way, things may have been easier for the two. Yet the ropes of fear held both of them back.
At his voice Roxanne felt tears threatening. She wanted so badly to tell him. To let it all out, to cry, yet she couldn’t. She didn’t want him to see her a weak, as a girl who constantly cried. That wasn’t who she was. She was a strong girl, one who took risk and was not afraid. She needed the Gryffindor courage more and more. She also needed a reminder that sometime crying and being truthful required more courage than holding it together. For if she broke down now, he’d be seeing her at her worst and that alone could scare him away. Yet maybe it was time to take the risk. What happen would happen, it would all work out for the best. Now all she needed was a pluck of courage.
Her heart rate increased as he spoke and Roxanne felt her breath get caught in her throat. She couldn’t possibly hold herself together much longer. Not at his words. It was as though the strings that held her seems together were being cut one by one. It was an odd sensation for her. She didn’t like it much; she didn’t like not being in full control of her surroundings. “I-I missed you too” she managed. “I’m so sorry Zeke, I’ve been terrible to you and to everyone lately. I’m just so sorry” she said her voice trembling with each word. She bit her bottom lip as she looked up at him. Her brown eyes swimming with emotions, she met his blue ones. There were secrets there, there always had been, yet they seemed more pronounced now.
“How did we get here?” she asked him softly. “How did we get to a place where we don’t know what to say to each other? Where we go weeks without seeing each other?”There was so much more running through her mind. But all she wanted in reality was to tell him, tell him everything on her mind, lay her head on his shoulder and cry. She wanted to be in his arms. She wanted to be close to him. She needed to be close to him. She wanted to be with him. She needed to be with him now. It seemed that the more time they spent apart the more she needed him. He was becoming very much like oxygen to her, without it, she found living quite hard.

He could hear it in her voice, see it in the slight tremor of her chest as she took a breath. She was hurting and it was killing him to see it, a knife that twisted cruelly in the heart of him, and he was loathe to allow it to continue any farther than this. Ezekiel had been running from intimacy for so long that he was practically a professional--relationships were dangerous even if it was only friendship. There were so many people out there that had a real fear of getting close and unfortunately it seemed like this particular pair faced the same problem. However, tragedy had a way of uniting people, drawing them close because of loss and fear of what might have been but never occurred. You hear a lot of people say that you should live without regret, that everything has a purpose but Ezekiel had so many and he was almost adding another to his list. Almost.
He was leaning toward her now, elbows resting on his knee caps as he regarded her with compassion. Another emotion he seemed only to reserve and display to her and it was such that she was the only person he felt comfortable showing that to. Everything had been played so close to their chests that now it all seemed so foolish and pointless. There was no escaping it now, pinned like a butterfly to a shadowbox he had promised himself he would see this through no matter what was to come of it. Something or nothing at all.
"Don't...ye 'aven't been horrible t'anyone. Everythin' has been different since the virus hit the school. Ah don't think anyone blames ye." His voice is quiet and firm, blue eyes watching hers as the catches in her voice increase and his arms burn to hold her. The knowledge burned up and down--he had known for a while that he was in love with her and that nothing he could do to himself or others could ever change that.
Ezekiel edged his chair closer until they were fully aligned and their arms touched. Sighing as though he had lost some kind of battle his body turned toward her, calloused finger tips reaching out to touch her cheek. "Things...er...well. Ah dunno what 'appened but somethin' changed an' it's hard fer me t'come t'terms with it."
He almost had to remind himself to breathe, lips compressed ever so slightly, "God damn it, jus' come 'ere." His hand slips from her cheek to her shoulder, as if to tug her toward him. As if in order to breathe his most recent secret he needed her there in his arms, to hold her one last time or to commemorate a beginning.

Roxanne watched as Ezekiel leaned in closer to her. As his body approached his, she felt a little better. It was as though her lungs were being filled with oxygen once more. He had yet to touch her, yet she already felt as though she was breaking the surface of the ocean, and gasping for air, after being held down for so long. She couldn’t break eye contact. It wasn’t one of those staring contest or one where they were trying to scare the other one. It was almost as though by keeping eye contact she was fortifying a bond or they were sharing unspoken words.
She couldn’t find the words to express the thoughts she felt with his words. She bit her bottom lip as he started to move. For the briefest moment she wondered if he was going to leave. Had she finally managed to scare him off? Her fears were quickly erased when she realized he was simply moving closer to her. Roxanne felt his fingers on her skin. She’d never felt anything like that before. The feelings going through her were completely foreign. She’d been with others before but it had never felt like this. These feelings had never manifested themselves before, nor did she ever expect them.
She closed her eyes as his fingers traced over her skin, and then found its way to her shoulder. Roxanne listened to him. Roxanne found herself slipping off her chair and into his within a moment, she wasn’t quite sure of what movements she had made to get herself there, all she knew is that she was there now. She was on his lap facing him. Her arms found their way around him neck as she hugged him tightly. She hadn’t felt herself feel that safe in a while. Her head found its place in his shoulder and she rested it there closing her eyes.
Sanctuary. She had finally found her sanctuary. Her safe haven, where no one and nothing could harm her. Roxanne hated to admit it but she had broken her own rule: never fall for your best friend. But she was after all a Weasley, and unless you were Uncle Percy, breaking rules was what a Weasley did best. And she was George Weasley’s daughter. He was known for breaking rules, if his own children didn’t break rules every now and then, was equivalent to a slap in the face for him. She should have known that she would end up breaking one of her rules, because after all rules were meant to be broken. And breaking this one couldn’t be that bad. For she had broken it, and now there was no going back. She had fallen for her best friend; she had fallen head over heels in love with him.
In all honesty she’d probably always loved him, but it was only now. Six years after they first became friends that she realized she was in love with him. It was funny the ways things like that worked out. You saw it all the time in those nonsense romance novels she loved to read, but she never thought it would happen to her. Now, it had. And maybe in the abyss of all the destruction and mayhem occurring around the castle, something good could rise. Hope was all that they had left now.

AS SHE CARRIES ON WITHOUT A DOUBT i wonder if she'll figure out that I ' M C R A Z Y F O R T H I S G I R L - - - *
The sensation of her slender frame coming to rest against his own was enough to liquefy him on the spot. A shiver ran down the length of his spine as her arms looped around his neck, her embrace tightening around him. It felt beyond good to have Roxanne in his arms and if you looked closely you might have been able to catch the slight lift in the corners of his lips--a rare smile gracing his features. An arm encircled her, one hand coming to rest on the small of her back and the other tangled itself in her hair. "Everythin' will work itself out, nothin' seems like it's gonna be all righ' but it will."
Looking back one could only wonder how they had managed to get here. How many times had they misbehaved and wreaked havoc with one another? How many times had he wondered how in the hell he had managed to befriend someone like her when he managed to alienate almost everyone else? His lips twitched ever so slightly as his mouth nears her ear, heart beating a little faster. Are you ready to tell her? Probably not but was anyone ever truly ready to admit their feelings? It took a great amount of courage to admit that you needed someone, and one had an even greater amount for admitting love.
Swallowing hard his lips began to move against her ear and it took him a moment to realize that sound had not yet come out of them. "Roxanne...Ah'm in love wit' ye..." The admission came out in a whisper, his blue eyes were half-lidded, body caught in mid-flinch as his mind ran away with him at all the possible outcomes. This moment had been a long time coming and now that it was here a weight had been lifted and another had descended in its place, a bit lighter this time and full of hope. He was still holding her, his embrace had not slackened and if she ran it would be hard to let her go but he had made the choice.
"Ah don't care 'bout any o'the rumors, Ah don't care 'bout what others might say...Ah jus' cannae pretend that Ah don't..." He trailed off, averting his eyes as his body began to tighten with tension. He had never been good at any of this and that had been the source of ex-girlfriends and almost-loves that littered his past. Ezekiel had taken a step forward and now he couldn't even talk and simply waited for an answer, any answer.

His touch warmed her skin. She felt alive again, all because his arms were now around her. She knew people could see, she knew that if the librarian, were to walk by at this very moment, they’d both be kicked out, and Roxanne would have no place to finish that damned essay of hers. She knew rumors would be like crazy soon. Not that they hadn’t before. But before they were always denied. It was always the same old, he’s a great guy, but we’re just friends or a little giggle followed by no, I’m with insert name of beau here or he’s with insert girl’s name here. This time it would be different. The two could no longer deny what many had seen coming years ago. What was news to them was filed under archives to others. None of it mattered though, they were together now. And she’d never felt safer or more pulled together.
A small smiled appeared on her lips as he assured her everything would be fine. She knew it would be. This knowledge hadn’t been there a moment ago, but it was now. She knew that whatever had happened, or would happen would happen for the best. She knew that would seem heartless to those loss, and in a way it was. But for those who still had lives, it was best to live them to the fullest. For they had only just seen that life could be taken away much too soon, that it could be snatched away in a moment. “It will,” she reaffirmed her words soft, her voice barely audible. It was more for herself then him.
The petite Gryffindor’s eyes opened wide at his words. She felt hear heartbeats increase once more and she wondered if he could feel them. She questioned for a moment if he had really even said those words. Had she simply imagined him whispering them in her ear? The moment of doubt passed quickly and Roxanne pulled away slightly. Her arms were still around him, as his were around hers. She looked at him with a smile on her face. She saw his lips moving again, yet the words weren’t registering, all she could here was his previous words, "Roxanne...Ah'm in love wit' ye...". over and over again in her mind. She did love him, she’d come to learn that, but for some reason saying those words weren’t coming out. When he averted his gaze, weight planted itself on her heart. She wasn’t going to hurt him again.
Her had found its way to his face and she slowly traced her sot fingers down his jaw line. Zeke, she started softly , yet for whatever reason the words simply could not form on her lips. Roxanne took a deep breath in then lowered her lips to his. She kissed him softly. It was as though she was trying to convey the words she couldn’t say orally through her actions. Her mind was in one track and one track alone. She was trying to pluck up the courage to say the words she felt so deeply in her heart.
When the kiss broke she looked at him, his blue eyes meeting her brown ones, “I’m in love with you”.

AS SHE CARRIES ON WITHOUT A DOUBT i wonder if she'll figure out that I ' M C R A Z Y F O R T H I S G I R L - - - *
Holy shit. It must have been a dream that he was living in, an odd one where he had actually spoken the words aloud. Whispers had risen up around them as other students watched with undisguised interest--there would be a new topic of discussion in the Great Hall at dinnertime. There was something enormously surprisingly about things working out, Ezekiel always expected the worst case scenario. Much like the plot lines in his mother's murder mysteries nothing ever turned out like you imagined it to. Lips twitched ever so slightly, watching her work it out in her head, the subtle touches lingered and spread like slow fire.
And when she kissed him he was suddenly awake for the first time in a long time, the sensation of her soft mouth against his sent a shiver rumbling through his entire body. And when she spoke and told him that she loved him as well a shit-eating grin exploded onto his face. "Holy shit," granted it wasn't a very standard response but the shock was enough that he felt like he could be knocked over, "this is one o' the best conversations Ah've had in a long time."
A peal of laughter sought freedom from his chest as his hands settled on either side of her face as he kissed her forehead, her nose, and her lips. "Y'know Ah have waited t'say that fer a very long time."
Taking a breath he glanced at the librarian that had appeared from behind a shelf, glaring disapprovingly. Rolling his eyes and ignoring the old crone his gaze settled back on Roxanne, taking a breath as his thumbs brushed her cheeks. "So...what d'we do now?"

A giggle left her as he her spoke. She couldn’t help herself. While his response wasn’t the typical one, one would expect. She preferred it. It was exactly what she would expect him to say. This had taken them six years to build, six years of craziness, adventures, dangers and stupid risks. Why? Just so they could spend some time together. She remembered the times Fred would get angry and tell her to never do something that idiotic again, and she would nod, but would willing do an idiotic thing again hours later. It was the way they were when together.
She nodded her head in agreement; this definitely was one of the best conversations she had had in a long time. She couldn’t help but remember those times when she’d go day without seeing his face in the halls and wonder to herself if he had contracted the virus. The thought had scared her, yet she’d never been able to make her way to the hospital wing to check. Students were dying and she didn’t want to see that. She’d be scared to enter the great hall every morning, afraid that it would be draped in black, and she’s hear the headmistress say that they lost another student, they lost, Ezekiel. But they never came true thankfully. She was guilty of feeling a strange little joy on the mornings where she’d wake and the hall would be black to mourn another student loss, she was guilty of feeling happy because it wasn’t him gone.
Roxanne smiled as he kissed her; joy was building inside of her. She found it hard to believe minutes ago, she was nearing a break down. The change in mood almost seemed bipolar. She opened her eyes and looked around her, she noticed that a group of students had gathered around them and were starring at the two shamelessly, they were muttering to each other as they did so. She also caught the eye of the librarian, who shot her a warning look. Roxanne couldn’t help but smile at her. She was simply too happy to care. Only he would, let all the rumors drop and be with her no questions asked. It seemed that both of them had decided that what happened before was senseless and better forgotten. There was no point getting involved in the pass and the mess they had left. They were both better off now. Smiling at him, Roxanne slid off his lap, “Sadly, I have an essay to finish, I wouldn’t mind some company though” she told him as she sat herself back down in her original chair.
“This is going to be all over the school soon isn’t it?” she said softly. She had no regrets, yet she was slightly afraid of what Fred would say. She sometimes got the impression that Fred wasn’t too thrilled with the company she kept. But it didn’t matter; he knew he had no say in who she dated, that had been proved when she had been with Felix. She looked up at him a smile on her lips. It seemed that that smile of hers simply wasn’t going to leave again.

AS SHE CARRIES ON WITHOUT A DOUBT i wonder if she'll figure out that I ' M C R A Z Y F O R T H I S G I R L - - - *
His lips twitched, blue eyes surprisingly soft as he watched her. Wondering whether he should give the ol' librarian the stare down as the warmth of her body left his, the smell of her warm skin still fresh in his nose. Stretching in his chair he rolled his eyes heavenward and overly-exaggerated a yawn. "Well, now Ah'm rather jealous of that paper but Ah s'ppose Ah'll live," waggling his eyebrows at her he peered over her shoulder at the parchment stretched out before her.
The smallest of grins split his mouth open, "Ah would expect nothin' less of our fellow student body." Rubbing his hands together he still felt something resembling a body high, blame it on a supreme happiness. There was a sense of peace knowing that he was now down one secret but there was still another that lingered, even though he did not quite acknowledge it at the moment. Why continuously torture yourself? Ezekiel watched the gorgeous girl in front of him with a face that was surprisingly open and uninhibited by the usual facade he chose to don in public. Although one thing stopped him, and that was something akin to worry, Ezekiel was well aware of Roxanne's father and he was vaguely stressed about some kind of eventual meeting.
"So what is th' paper about? Maybe Ah can extend mah expertise," His lips twitched ever so slightly, mischief sparking in his eyes before a seriousness passed over his face.
"Are ye okay wit' this? Wit' the whole...this?" He wanted to make sure, almost as if he could not believe it for the life of him that something had worked out. The boy's in shock, what can I say?

Roxanne looked at him with a smirk on her lips as he mentioned that he was rather jealous of her paper. Finally she could hold it in and she let out a small snigger “Really Zeke? That was a terrible joke” she told him with a slight smirk still playing on her lips. “You’re lucky I find boys with corny lines attractive” she told him with a smile before leaning forward and giving him a small short kiss. If it was up to her, she knew, she would like nothing more than to be in his arms kissing, sadly, she doubted that anyone in the library wanted to see that much public display of affection. Roxanne didn’t blame them either; she herself couldn’t stand couple that practically shagged in front of others: it drove her insane.
Roxanne nodded; she knew that there would be no end to the rumors, there never was. She’d been the subject of gossip many times before and it was always the same, the truth got stretch and pulled until it no longer resembled much of its old shape. In some ways it was amusing to see what the end story would be, for they were often preposterous and nowhere near the truth. It was as though the student body was playing huge game of broken telephone. A game that never ended and the goal wasn’t to preserve the message but to warp it into something totally different. And of course with Rumor raven running about, there never was a break. Something was always running around the school.
“It’s part of their charm, she said referring to the student body “The question given for the essay was : Unbreakable Vows, should the ministry ban them. Discuss. Support with Case Studies” she replied, reading the question of a sheet in her notebook. Dipping her quill in some ink, Roxanne started to write again. It seemed that the words were coming easier this time. There was no more stopping to think and ponder. She knew what needed to be said, and she knew how to say it. There was only the occasional pause when she would consult a rough note. She listened to each word her told her as she wrote.
She put her quill down. When the question left his lips. It should have been her asking that question. She was the one with the murky past, the one with dead exes, the one who cheated once upon a time, the once who did the wasted one night flings. “ Of course I am, I should be asking you this,” she told him softly. “What brought that up Zeke?” she asked him curiously. There had to be something on his mind for him to ask her that.
