Whispers tend to dance in Jill's wake and her appearance is partially at fault. Having the skin and smirk of your mother's rumored lover does little to hinder the gossip. Draco Malfoy looks nothing like Jill's father and she has too much of him in her for the rumors to be wrong. For this reason, Jill puts an extraordinary amount of effort into her appearance. Facing down the lions is easier when you make a point of looking like the hunter instead of the meat. Life is a facade for Jill and it begins with sunrise, when she rearranges herself into the mask.
The focal point of any attacker is the exterior, particularly the face. Even if they can't bright themselves to meet your gaze, this is where they seek out your weakness. Therefore, Jill's face must be perfect when it strives to betray nothing. Her ivory skin cannot be helped, but it can be flawless. Muggle make up conceals any bumps or redness, especially that around the eyes. A blush is added to hide the flush of shame she bears constantly. Her lips are naturally red, but they tend to be dry and cracked. Lip balm helps this. She generally laves her eyelashes alone. No one notices them. This is the easy part.. For there is nothing quite as hard to fake as a smile. Her smile is well practiced; beaming, but not overdone. It is a painful smile that stretches her lips too far for comfort and brings an ache to her heart. If granted a single wish in life, Jill would ask for a purpose for a smile. A real one. It has been a long time since she felt one of those on her face.
Next comes the hair. Jill's happens to be a light brown with a gentle curl. She inherited this from her mother and is exceedingly grateful not to be blonde. More often than not, there is a headband holding back her hair. This is because she refuses to hide her eyes. It is a sign of weakness and she cannot afford those. When left down, her hair is arranged is soft curls that frame her face and drape over her shoulders. Keeping them this way takes a considerable amount of product and effort. No one is allowed to touch Jill's hair, though few people would want to regardless. She does pull it back on occassion, but this takes even more work. The buns must appear messy enough to look like sh doesn't care, yet neat enough to exude a sense of power. If Jill had her way, she'd chop it all off or at least wear a ponytail, but neither idea is allowed to be entertained. Her hair is her one source of vanity. The Malfoy boy has terrible hair.
Clothing is the easy part of the masquerade while Jill is at school. Everyone wears the same uniform, so she doesn't stand out. Her skirt is always pressed, her tie neat and her robes prone to crisp snapping. A green, white or silver headband tops it off and she is set. She makes an uniform of blending in at school and the uniform aids in this. Her gaze stays up, but when in uniform she is one of many. Just another sixth year girl in green. Weekends are a challenge when it comes to wardrobe. Her family lacks the wealth once associated with pure bloodlines and everyone knows it. The trouble is that fine clothing and accessories keep appearing in her trunk. She refuses to consider that they might be from Draco and tries her hardest not to wear them. Often, though, she has little choice. Jill absolutely refuses to wear jeans, preferring skirts and dresses with heels. She likes to be ladylike and feel elegant. If only she weren't so clumsy. Many a bruise has resulted from her high heel obsession. Not that she'll change. Draco gave her pride and stubbornness along with the sling backs.

SENTENCE ME TO ANOTHER LIFE
The birth certificate says Terence Higgs, but the reality is otherwise.
father
mother Pansy Higgs
siblings Two half-brothers, one who will not be mentioned
spouses Dear God , no!
offspring That's a joke, right?
other relations Various Malfoys, Parkinsons and Higgs
Pansy Parkinson never got over Draco Malfoy. That is where our story begins. They were involved during their years at Hogwarts; Slytherin's prize couple. Everything changed after the last great battle, save for emotions. Draco married Astoria and Pansy wed Terrence. Both couples had sons when the affair began. Whether Draco still cared for Pansy or whether he was seeking connection to his glory days is unknown, but the tryst became several and Pansy was in too far. She begged Draco to leave his wife and be with her officially. The family name meant too much to Draco and he ended things. Three weeks later Pansy learned of her pregnancy and tried again, this time imploring on behalf of their child. Draco turned them both away, refusing to claim the baby. Pansy returned to her husband and vowed to never speak of it again. This vow would not be kept and it would break apart her daughter's world.
From the moment of her birth, Jill struggled to find a place in the world. Rumors of her origins followed her wherever she went. Her mother hid from the scandal and the memories while her father did his best to stand by them despite this. Wealth was not among their privileges, so Terrence worked long hours to make ends meet. Jill was mostly raised by her brother, who resented the arrangement. As a child, Jill looked forward to Hogwarts. She saw it as her chance to escape. If the phrase is true, then Hogwarts was quite a fire to fall willingly into.
Jill's troubles began when she was sorted into the same house as Scorpious Malfoy. They were first years together, but not siblings as they might have been. He knew of the rumors and she knew who he was. Scorpious was not a fan of Jill and she made few efforts to win his favor. As it turned out, a friend would have been nice. Her classmates were as against her as her half brother. Being born of an affair is generally frowned upon in society. Children are cruel and an easy target is an easy target. Jill made a few friends here and there, but most everyone avoided her. As if her reputation might rub off on them. She put up with this for five years and then her thoughts on the matter changed.
The summer before her sixth year, Jill made a decision. She decided to make an effort to make friends. To reach out to others. Jill wanted a few good memories from her time at school and she only had two years left to make them. So when September came she reacted differently to her fellow students. She began fighting back against the rumors, sitting next to strangers and striking up conversations. A few months went by and things changed a little. She had a couple friends and there were a few less whispers. December is here now and Jill is considering attending her first dance. Things are changing and this time it might be for the better.

Rain pelted the windows of the Great Hall, but the sound was barely noticeable over the chatter of the students behind the glass. Silverware clattered against dishes and the pumpkin juice flowed as freely as the laughter that echoed off the walls. Lunch was a generally enjoyable affair; the students appreciated the break from the books and lectures of everyday schoolwork. It was the sort of scene that once made Jill queasy , but today was different. Today she was sitting with friends.
Her hand rose to adjust her white headband as Jill entered the room. There was a purple stain on the right side of her skirt, just above her knee. She'd had an incident in Potions and was fairly certain that the skirt was shot. Her books were held close to her chest by her left arm and her footsteps were unnaturally steady and slow.
Jill could feel her heart racing as she approached the Slytherin table. They would let her sit with them wouldn't they? The invitation wasn't a practical joke, was it? Her right hand found a curl on her right shoulder and twirled it around her index finger nervously. Then her brain began functioning again and she released it. She reached the table and stood awkwardly next to the bench. Both of her arms clutched her books just below her belly button and she shifted from foot to foot with anxious energy.
"Hey, she whispered softly. They couldn't hear her. She inhaled deeply then tried again. "Hey," she greeted them at an audible decibel.
