May 14th

" I honestly don't understand why some people hate their names so much. But I suppose it's all a matter of perspective, isn't it? There's not much to my name. I guess my parents just liked the sound of it? "
nicknames Tin, Tin-Tin, Wood
" My nicknames...well, they're not really creative. I really don't care what you call me, as long as it's not something childish such as Tinsley-Bear. But honestly, I'd prefer it if you would just call me Tinsley like everyone else. "
age seventeen
date of birth
year and house of preference seventh & gryffindor

" My mum was a pureblood and so was my dad. Although, I don't think people care all that much about bloodlines anymore. Well, except for a few. "

If there's one thing to be said about Tinsley, it's that she looks like her mother. Obviously, they can't pass for twins- but you'll most likely see the common features. Dark hair, dark eyes, slightly dark skin. You would have to look hard for any resemblence to her father, though. There have been times when Tinsley would've prayed to be like her sister or the other girls at Hogwarts. Ivory skin, blue eyes, blonde hair. Over the years, she eventually got used to her slightly different appearance.
Very much like her personality, Tinsley has a childish aurora to her. In a way, that's almost her cover-up. When you first look at her, you get pictures of rainbows and bunnies in your mind. Surely, no one with those sincere dark honey eyes can be cruel. Her hair is almost exactly like her mother's, much to her dismay. She's not looking to be her mother's clone. The common shade would be a dark chestnut brown at first. Although, if you get close you would see light tints of dark gold in it. In the light, you can see thin streaks of reddish brown.
Tinsley has a rather petite build, again, much like her mother. From several summers of playing Quidditch in the backyard, most of her frame is muscle. She might not have the preferred model-tall structure, but it fits Tinsley. Standing at 5"8, she can be referred to as pixie-like. It's not something she's really fond of, but it suits her.
Beauty might come naturally to her, but her clothing style is another thing on it's own. Tinsley has absolutely no desire to dress up as a barbied-up tramp around Hogwarts. Attention to comes to her on it's own, but Tinsley prefers to stay away from the spotlight. Aside from the newly renovated Hogwart's uniforms, Tinsley has always been a sucker for a summer dress- something light. Fortunately, she isn't one of those girls who take forever picking out an outfit.

SENTENCE ME TO ANOTHER LIFE
Oliver Wood
father
" Strangely enough, I've never been a daddy's little girl. I mean, you take one look at me and think " Yeah, she's the little baby. " But that's not really true. My dad was Quidditch Captain during his time and most unfortunately, I didn't follow in his footsteps. Don't get me wrong, I like quidditch and all but playing for the Gryffindor team never really called to me. I love him, yes, but we've never really had that special father-daughter moment. "
mother Katie Wood {nee Bell}
" I love my mum, but it's the same with my father. She treats me like she does with my siblings, so I can't really claim to be the favorite. She's there for me, but I do have a hard time opening up to her. I don't really think it's her fault, I think it's me actually. "

Luckily for her, Tinsley was not the first child of Oliver and Katie Wood. To her, being an only child, even for the shortest amount of time, would've a disaster. Imagine being all alone. Most children are often born early, eager in some senses. Tinsley was late by a week or so. However, on December 21st- she was born at a muggle hospital.
Before long, Katie was expecting again with her brother. Tinsley wasn't exactly pampered or babied, but she was well taken care of. She never really grew up, in the maturity sense. Looking at the world in the eyes of a child, Tinsley possessed that childlike tease to her. She got along with her siblings rather well, as much as they could anyways. However much she claims to be close to her family, she's always been rather distant from them.
When she started at Hogwarts, Gryffindor seemed like the obvious choice. That's where her sister, her mother, and father got placed. People never gave Tinsley much credit or thought for her intellegence, something Tinsley was dying to prove. In the end, after much debate whispers, or thoughts, with the Sorting Hat, she got placed in Gryffindor. A part of her, the majority, was proud. Proud to be a Gryffindor. Another part of her was doubtful.
To her obvious relief, they were okay with that. She turned away from the path that would've been easy to take. Daughter of two Quidditch players, she had the natural ability to fly. But Quidditch was something she saved for the summer, to do on her spare time, despite the shocked responses from those who had known her parents.
She gets uneasy with the way people treated her after her rejection for Quidditch. They treated her the way one would treat a delicate flower. Stand still, look pretty. They didn't count on her for anything, and Tinsley desperately wanted to prove herself. To prove that she is worth more then her beauty, more then just 'Oliver and Katie's child.' After all, she didn't get into Ravenclaw for nothing.
But it gets to you, the way people look at you. People underestimate Tinsley by several degrees. She might look like a fragile flower, but you know what they say. Never trust appearances. Of course, Tinsley's isn't a bitch who gets her pleasure from the pain of others. Her moral compass doesn't always point north, you know. She parties, she occasionally drinks. Yet, somehow, people never take her seriously. Now, some might have the mental courage to take this blow and take a couple of steps back- Tinsley isn't one of them.
Even her twin sister, as much as Tinsley loved her, is hard for Tinsley to talk to. All the other Woods seemed perfect, with very little flaws. Her parents were stars at Hogwarts, stars of the Quidditch field. Her sister has courage like you've never seen before. Her brother takes care of everyone, a protector. Yet, people take her just as another pretty face in the family picture. Tinsley is determined to prove them wrong.

roleplay sample
It was hot. Much too hot to play Quidditch, Tinsley mused absently. Lounging on a chair on the deck, she eyed the sun with a grimace. Summertime was supposed to be a time of adventure, for new faces. However, it seemed like everyone is choosing to spend the day inside. She could go exploring, but she does that every summer. By now, she knew every crook and every step in the large field. She could go swimming, but somehow that didn't seem right. So, for now at least, she'll just stay right where she is.
" You look like an advertisement. " An amused, unfamiliar voiced called out to her. Tinsley frowned, was was this person talking to her? Common sense reached her, she was the only one out here. Lifting her head, her honey eyes landed on a boy, around her age, standing a couple feet from her. Advertisement? That didn't sound very...pleasant. " Excuse me? " Tinsley called back, uneasy.
" You look like an advertisement. " He repeated, as if she was deaf. " It looks like you're an airhead model who's trying to sell the place. Trying to convince people that if they buy the place, they'll be just as beautiful. " He added, his blonde hair sticking up straight. Tinsley gripped the armstand, unsure of how to react. She wasn't a violent person, but the urge to hit this strange came to her. It was game, that she was sure of that. Or an odd way of flirting, which was strange considering she doesn't know him. Point one, he just called her an airhead. Point two, he thinks she's beautiful. Anyways, it was just rude to...say such things. She didn't even know him and already he was insulting her.
Standard issue, she supposed. Pursing her lips once again, Tnisley eyed him with distrust and offense. " Can I help you with something? Or would you just like to insult me again? " She replied, her tone unusually cold. His eyes lit up with amusement. Wonderful. Just wonderful. She was entertainment to him. Turning her head around, she reached for her wand. No, she wasn't going to jinx him, as much as she wanted to. Without waiting for his reply, she marched inside. However, Tinsley couldn't resist the urge to look back again.
Funny enough, he was still standing there- looking at her with amusement. Scowling, Tinsley turned her head away so fast her dark hair whipped her face. What does he know.
