there's not much going on today i'm really bored it's getting late. what happened to my holiday? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Bizarrely, even though it was the night after the dance, Juliette felt pretty damned good. A lot of her Ravenclaw friends seemed to be nursing hangovers from the afterparty, sore heels from the real party, or colds from not going to the party. Juliette was in the latter catagory, but she wasn't ill, presumably because she hadn't been outside. No. Juliette had spent last night in her dorm room, reading, as per usual. It was almost typical that when there was a big school organised social that Juliette could be found curled up in her blanket. She'd been there with a very nice glass of muggle Glühwein she'd learned how to make in Germany. By all views, her night had been a good one, and by the time her friends had stumbled in with broken heels and runny noses in the early hours, Juliette had been sound asleep.
And now she was reaping the benefits. Everyone else was cranky and she was bouncing around the castle with a large grin spread across her face. People shot her dirty looks and muttered at her, but Juliette just smiled and bounced around, as per usual, even more cheerful, if possible. So. It was midday, and a Saturday. Hogsmeade wasn't running today because of the party, so it was relatively quiet. The studious bunch were out and about, shooting evil glares, but the majority of the school was in their beds recovering. Juliette, however, was headed outside. It was a cold winter frost at midday, but she wrapped her heavy velvet-lined cloak round her body as she crept out into the cold day.
The sun was bright, her eyes angled at the ground as she wandered aimlessly across the grass. The grass itself, coated with frost, crunched pleasantly under every light step. It took her a few minutes to reach her newly decided destination. The Black lake was a beautiful sight, all frozen over. Hopefully fairly thickly. Usually Hogwarts students would be skating all over it, testing the ice, but this year people seemed to have become too sensitive. Juliette, however, wanted to keep tradition going, without a teacher catching her. She stood there for a few minutes, before sitting down on the frozen grass, removing her ice skates from her cloak and putting them on. It was a time consuming process- unlacing Converses and lacing up her skating boots, especially for someone as clumsy as Jules. Eventually though, it was done, and she took her first tentative steps towards the ice.
She tapped the ice at the edge with the pointy part of the skate, and finding it was thick enough, stepped onto it. Her steps were shaky at first, but eventually they increased in confidence as she neared the center of the lake and attempted to skate a small circle. A shout from the edge made her look up, eyes wide and slightly startled as though she was to be told off, and a smile took on her lips, as she wondered whether or not to skate back towards the figure.

don't think too hard if you think it hurts that bad DON'T TALK ABOUT IT DON'T LET IT GET YOU DOWN Kieron had been yet another student that had not attended and he was still feeling all right, if not a bit peaky. The head ache that was currently occupying most of his energy was thought to be the result of late night studying in an attempt to take his mind off of the fun times had by all the people with dates. It had not been hard to lie to his gaggle of friends, told them he had slipped off in the dark with some pretty young thing and they had taken the lie hook, line, and sinker. Thinking perhaps that some amount of fresh air might clear his head and alleviate the thunder storm pounding incessantly at his temples.
God damn it! Why won't this damn thing go away? Maybe I should go to the hospital wing... A frown danced on his lips before carried away by the crisp winter wind. He had taken care to bundle up, a hat on his head and scarf and jacket insulating him from the lovely frigid weather. Kieron's mind was on other things, his finished paper and what kind of grade he might receive for his troubles...the interesting Slytherin girl he'd met the other day in the General Commons. Wondering on how Roxanne faired at the dance and whether or not that tosser Greer had managed to bad ass his way into her pants.
He was not expecting to find himself a few football fields away from school, staring at the snowy glaze that frosted the Black Lake like a finely decorated cake. Wandering closer than he had intended his large, stupid foot went crashing through the ice and a yelp that sounded far more feminine than he could have ever intended exploded out of him.
"FUCKING SHIT! IT WAS THE SQUID!"
Unaware that anyone else could happen to be watching him at this particular moment he stared at his frozen foot in horror and inched back, not caring that soon he would be sporting a wet ass on top of bruised pride.

It was the sort of shout that she ofter uttered when something unexpected happened, like having paper balls thrown at her, or when people pinched her sides- the cruel friends they were. So, she hung back. Juliette, in her usual shy capacity, wouldn't approach the person first, and would wait. However, as she skated forward slowly, more just to glimpse more of the person than to get nearer to them, she pondered upon whether there were any half giant girls in the school. To Juliette most girls were tall, seeing as she was a ridiculously short munchkin at four foot eight. However, even to her this girls stature looked more like that of a man.
Eventually, about a minute or so of craning later, she ascertained that the figure was indeed that of a man. Idiot girl.. she told herself, smiling and laughing at herself as she skated quicker, towards the figure who now seemed in need of some help. It took her a few minutes, but eventually she reached the side of the lake, having heard the entire scream. Her look should of been one of consideration and helpfulness, as well as shyness, but unfortunately it didn't arrange itself in quite that fashion. Juliette looked as though she was both shy, and highly amused by the sight of a tall senior boy seemingly being horrified by the fact he fell into the apparently thin ice. Juliette chuckled as she skidded to a stop above the guy, though not before checking the ice was thick enough to support her weight. She coughed in a way she hoped was conspicuous enough to attract attention. She recognized the guy in question, probably one of the seventh years she and her friends had crushed on in class for some time. However, despite that, she couldn't actually remember for the life of her his name! It was one of those things, seeing a hot guy in class, and giggling for a period, then forgetting him straight after. That was what usually happened to Jules, she never had much time nor sense for relationships, but perhaps that was just because she was so small, awkward, loud and quiet, and a Ravenclaw. Anyhow, she took a look at the boy once again and held out her hand (hoping he wouldn't put too much weight on her, her fragile frame would tumble into the water with his leg) and spoke with laughter in her voice; "The squid was it? Ja, I heard she wasn't terribly fond of heavy guys skating on her patch."

don't think too hard if you think it hurts that bad DON'T TALK ABOUT IT DON'T LET IT GET YOU DOWN Hearing the sound of another voice Kieron's face turned a strange and rather unflattering shade of red. Blue eyes swung 'round until they landed on a pretty brunette that had come rather close without him hearing her. This was certainly not how he wanted to keep meeting girls! He had noticed the trend lately, that most of the time when he met another girl it was usually via some sort of accident on his end. God, nothin' but a clumsy oaf. For with size came a great need for dance classes, for Kieron had about as much grace as an elephant on a rampage. Wondering why the fates saw fit to embarrass him continuously he knew that he should be rather grateful his brother had not been anywhere in the vicinity to witness what he had just done. Men are not supposed to shriek like scared little girls. And yet, that was exactly what he had just done. He was over-reacting a little bit, doubtful that it was the engineering of the Giant Squid, a beast that would rather chase fish and mess with mermen and mermaids. Truth be told he could not exactly recall the last time he had seen the creature milling about with all of its creepy tentacles waggling.
So essentially you made an ass of yourself for no apparent reason. Congratulations, you are officially a member of the Loser Brigade.
Accepting the delicate hand that was offered to him he was indeed careful not to pull her down with him. Straightening his clothes in a rather embarrassed fashion he muttered something, pointing his wand at his wet pant leg. A warming sensation trickled over his skin and soon enough there was little to no evidence that he had ever put his leg through the ice. Looking up at the vaguely familiar face of the girl he smiled ever so slightly, "Thanks...wait...are you saying I'm fat?!" Mock outrage colored his features before quickly dissolving.
"I owe you my life, fair lady...I guess I'm willing to forgive and forget the heinous weight comment." Glancing down to her feet with what he hoped was not a rather obvious stare he pulled his gaze back up again, a brow quirked in amusement.
Ice skating? A part of him wondered what house she was in, something seemed familiar about her to him anyway. Upon hearing the slightest hints of a German accent his eyes sparked with a certain amount of interest. He may have been a strange goof ball but he was curious and questioned almost everything and anything that would let him. Sticking out his hand in a means to introduce himself a Cheshire grin bled across his features, "Nice to meet you, I'm Kieron."

She hadn't meant anything bad by it, just that as he was tall, and apparently muscular, he would be heavier than someone else, like herself, was. Saying that, Juliet knew she was heavier than other girls, even if she was a lot shorter. She had that little bit of 'padding' on her hips and other places which made her irritated from time to time. She bit her lip as her eyes were apologetic, before realising that the guy wasn't being totally serious. She let out a small giggle, inwardly reprimanding herself. You take things far too literally Juliette, seriously, lighten up. She shook her head in spite of herself and stepped away from the tall guy now he no longer needed her assistance to stand up off the ice, and had apparently managed to dry himself off with the use of lovely magic. The hole he'd made in the ice was fairly big, and Juliette looked warily at it, practically wishing he wouldn't step backwards. She was glad of her skates, and apparently, he was curious of them. She found that a little odd. Why be curious of footwear, was it a completely ridiculous notion to ice skate on the frozen lake?
Giggling a little she commented, looking up at the tall guy. "Ja, ice skates, maybe you'd find they were a good idea," She hoped it came off as a joke, unlike her last comment seemed to have, and she laughed a little self consciously at it. She stepped backwards, tripping a little and flailing, before the guy offered his hand, and she stumbled forward to accept it, grabbing it in a somewhat unladylike fashion to keep herself upright. Her dark curls bounced as she grinned widely, her cheeks rouging in embarrassment. "Juliette, it's nice to meet you Kieron," she said, somewhat louder than she normally would, due to the fact her heart was pumping really fast after the shock of tripping. It wasn't like she wasn't used to tripping over, it happened all the time, but she hadn't tripped over on ice in years. For some reason skating made her feel a lot more graceful and lady-like than she actually was.

don't think too hard if you think it hurts that bad DON'T TALK ABOUT IT DON'T LET IT GET YOU DOWN Lips twitched, watching the crimson blush creep across her face. Had she taken him seriously? That was a rare find in most of the people around here, the only time he was taken seriously was when his fists were raised. "I was just kidding, you didn't hurt my feelings...boys don't have feelings after all." Winking to show that he was joking around again he had almost forgotten to be embarrassed by the incident that had just occurred. Her giggle revealed that she had caught on to his joke and he looked rather relieved at the prospect. Kieron was never the sort that wanted to be perceived as an asshole, unlike a certain Ravenclaw boy he knew that seemed to relish being the enemy.
"Well, y'know...Gryffindors aren't well known for their common sense. I suppose it would have made sense but things that make sense aren't half as fun as things that don't." He paused a moment as if to back track and see if any of what he had just said made any resemblance of sense. Some of it did...he was pretty sure it did anyway. He was not quite sure why but he felt a bit light-headed all of a sudden...was he starting to come down with whatever everyone else had? The corners of his mouth turned down at the corners, a nearly imperceptible motion. Good thing he was planted in a rather firm stance or he might have swayed a little bit.
"Juliette, that's a pretty name. Parents a fan of Shakespeare? Oh and I hope you don't think I'm weird or anything but...did you grow up in Germany?" Inching forward on the ice as he attempted to scoot away from the hole in the ice before turning around and muttering something under his breath, watching the hole close over. In the back of his head he felt a sudden twinge and looked back toward Hogwarts. Felix... He could just be imagining things again, it was not the first time that Kieron had perceived some sort of danger befalling his little brother when it turned out that he was completely safe and sound. "I'm just going to try and be light as a feather and get the hell away from that patch of ice."
