Tinsley liked to say that things will work itself out. That everything happens for a reason. If you meet someone, then there's a reason for that. If something tragic happens, it happens for a reason. She believed that people do good things just for the sake of doing something in the world. Not everybody has a reason or master plan behind every action and move that they make. Sometimes, people do good things just because they want to. Sure, that may be naive and foolish- but Tinsley just felt that way.
No one was born evil. She believed that everybody was born with good in them, a heart of gold. Obviously, people get mislead. But there always has to be a part in them that's still good. Every cruel, every evil act has a reason behind them. No one wakes up and decides to terrorize the world. Tinsley has always looked for the best in people, rather than the worst. She likes to the see good in them, even if they don't see it for themselves.
Her family, however, was not the same. Quidditch is a rough game, you work to see your rival's weaknesses. But that's only one of the many reasons why Tinsley would never be like them. She's not feisty, she's not competitive. She's always found it easy to forgive and forget, rather than to hold a grudge. With family fights, not that there's been many, Tinsley has always played the peacemaker. It just came naturally to her, rather than the polar opposite. Oliver Wood liked to see both sides, to compare them. " Maybe. Or maybe it's just because you're a nice person. " Tinsley answered simply.
Stress doesn't get to her very easily, Tinsley has always been a carefree soul. She was content with helping people with their problems, listening while they talk. It may be dull at times and somewhat painful- but Tinsley did it anyways. If they needed help, that was reason enough.
Still trying, and failing, hard not to laugh, Tinsley managed to turn it into a soft smile. " I'm sorry ! I can't. You're just not very scary. " Tinsley teased. Like said, things don't get to Tinsley very easily. She's always been hard to get rattled, although recent events might cause an exception or two. While some people might be hotheaded with a shorter temper, Tinsley found herself to be the opposite. When Roxanne ended with Jonathan, or Jonathan ended with her- she never really gotten the whole story, Tinsley had been more than content just to listen to him talk it all out. Or perhaps to wait until he was ready. Tinsley wasn't a pusher.
Once, Katie Wood told her youngest daughter that she'd make a good mom. At the time, Tinsley had laughed. She has always imagined herself to be too free-spirited to take care of a child. She liked children, yes. But she wasn't ready to get married and whatnot. At this age- who was? Besides, there was always that one other reason. What if she failed the child? It wasn't fair to bring an innocent child down, because of her inept parenting style.
Tinsley was too stunned to reply for a moment. She had been expecting more protests, more of a fight. She was curious, though. What had made him given in so easily? Shrugging it off, Tinsley shook her head. " You really do spoil me. " Tinsley told him playfully. She never did get why Roxanne cheated on him with...who was it again? Oh, dear. She should've paid more attention. Still. " Because. Whoever he is, I think you two would get along. " Tinsley replied, shrugging. Anyone could along with someone else, if they put their heart into it.
Now the trouble is- to actually get a date. Uh-oh. It's been far too long since Tinsley actually went on a date, much less know anyone. But as a friend, probably Roxanne or Dei- back in the day, once said- there's always someone out there. But then again, Tinsley didn't want to date someone just for pity. After all, she's just the girl whose brother died. There's bound to be plently of pity out there somehow. Oh, well. She'd figure it out later.
Tinsley beamed. At least there won't be a murder on the date, something she's hoping to put off for a while. How on Earth did she drag herself into these things? Still, at least there won't be any blood. " There you go ! Was that too hard? " Tinsley teased. Her mood deflated slightly at the mention of Malfoy's name. It was something that she hadn't figured out yet, nor was it something she's looking forward to. " I don't know. I guess it just happened. " Tinsley replied, shrugging. She shook her head at him, her eyes fixing on his with an unusually stubborn glint. " Let's not be cocky, Jonathan. You two could be friends. " She told him, determined to be right.
Looking up, she jumped slightly. " I'm sorry, but I have to go. I told my mom that I would write to her more often. " Tinsley said, dreading the moment. Getting up, she grabbed her still not read textbook and exitted the library. Before she head out the door, Tinsley glanced back and smiled, waving.
